James Chao is the Engineering and Quantitative Research Lead at Nextgen Signal AI with experience in developing advanced Machine Learning systems.  

From 2018 until 2024, James led machine learning development at Rosetta Analytics, creating deep learning and reinforcement learning models for trading. His work includes designing pipelines for data processing, model training, and deployment, enabling a versatile framework capable of trading various assets across global markets.

Before his graduate studies, James worked on distributed data management at CERN’s ATLAS experiment and led data management for the Distributed Cloud Operating System department (DiCOS), at the Academia Sinica Grid Computing Centre (ASGC). These roles honed his skills in large-scale data processing, which he now applies to financial machine learning.

James holds an MSc in Computer Science from NYU and a BSc in Physics from National Taiwan University.
